The Department of Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Malaysia has recently stepped up in enforcement of two new regulations which were applied since 10 December 2009.
The new Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluents) Regulations, 2009, and Environmental Quality (Sewage) Regulations, 2009, replace the previous Environmental Quality (Sewage and Industrial Effluents) Regulations, 1979. Under the regulations, entities are prohibited from disposing of industrial effluent or sewage into soil, inland waters or Malaysian waters. Disposal of such materials require a strict guideline of industrial treatment standards.
If your business is affected by the new regulations, it's time to plan your visit to AWARE (Asia Water Resource) 2010. The Department of Environment will be conducting a seminar at the upcoming Asia Water Resource Seminar during the expo period. In addition, the concurrent ASIAWATER 2010 Expo will feature over 500 exhibiting companies including water treatment systems, pumps, monitoring systems and other relevant products for your requirements.
AWARE 2010, along with ASIAWATER 2010, will be held from 6-8 April 2010 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and will be a complete trade event for the water and wastewater industry, featuring an international Expo, an international conference, business matching programs and specialized technology symposiums. The event is fully endorsed by the International Water Association and the Department of Water Supply, Malaysia,
