Kuala Lumpur : Over 500 companies are set to exhibit at the 6th edition of the ASIAWATER Expo & Forum from 6 - 8 April 2010 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Recognized by the industry as The Biggest Water and Wastewater Industry Event In The Region, the event is expected to draw over 10,000 industry professional, buyers and delegates from across Asia.
According to the United Nations World Water Development, the world’s population is increasing by approximately 80 million people per year which means that even more fresh water is needed. Much of this growth will be in Asia. The Malaysia Government has taken initiative and efforts in developing a sustainable water supply infrastructure. The government has taken a strategic long term view in implementing water projects which include private sector participation. The 9th Malaysia Plan ( 2006 -2010 ), has allocated a total of RM8.1 billion on water supply related projects of which RM2.7 billion will be focused on new water projects.
