| Nominations can be made in one of four categories : |

| Individual Award - An individual that have outstanding engagement, contribution and achievement in helping to advance and facilities the optimal use, protection and conservation of water resources for the benefit of the socio-economic development in Asia. |

| Industry Award - Company or organisation in their display of outstanding professional practices and competence in technical and management of water resources in the region. |
|
| Government Department Award - Outstanding policies made by public water related service, water utility of water authority encouraging the provision of water related services leading to the improved usage, protection and conservation of water resources in the region. |
|
| NGO Award - Non-government organisation that have outstanding professional, public or private engagement, contribution and achievement in helping to advance or facilitate the optimal use, protection and conservation of water in the region. |
